At the conclusion of the Yom Kippur service, the sanctuary will be jammed as Mark Gordon raises the consciousness of the congregation with an unusually-long and piercing tekiah godola. Be there with your friends, family and especially your children to share in the excitement.
Although Mark Gordon was a trumpet player in high school, his skill at blowing the shofar is more the result of over a decade of diligent practice than of that early training. It started when his wife bought him a shofar for his birthday. That was followed by occassional "toots" as he calls them for various small congregations. With time, he gained envious control, and Adat Shalom is proud to have him as a member of our congregation.
